Our Facilities

The Health Center

A well-equipped operating room with three tables

The ward where patients spend the first few days after surgery.

The entrance to the clinic of the Danja Fistula Center where new patients have their first evaluation, and behind it the administrative wing.

The Village

For some women who have suffered severe nerve damage, the challenge of walking from the Village to the Clinic is a hurdle to overcome.

The Village is a small collection of dorms, a common cooking area, toilets and showers, and a laundry area where the women live before and after their surgeries.

The women also learn profitable trades of knitting and embroidery while they live at the Danja Fistula Center. These embroidered cloths to tie a baby on a mother's back and the warm little 'ski' hats they knit for children sell well locally.

The Guest House

For visiting doctors and other specialists, we have a simple but comfortable guest house about 500 meters/ yards from the health centers.

Rooms in the guest house have two single beds or a queen, a private shower and toilet, and air conditioning, fan and light. Linens and a mosquito net are also provided.

The guest house has a large common room with comfortable seating, dining room tables, and a small kitchen.

The guest house offers a self-serve kitchen with non-perishable food in the cupboards. We try to stock a small selection of fruits and vegetables for those days when we have guests. Guests may also have a hot meal from the Danja Fistula Center kitchen at noon.
